About Us

I formed Lewis Publishing Company in 1994. At the time, we were a desktop publishing operation, producing mainly brochures and other publications. I had worked with veterans for over 16 years, including 9 years with the New Jersey Agent Orange Commission, and held the position of Executive Director from 1991-1996.

I served in the Marine Corps from 1964-68. I was in Vietnam as a grunt in Charlie Company, 1st Battalion 5th Marines. Vietnam was a life-defining experience for me, and like many others I've met over the years, something that will be a part of me forever.

The Veteran's Bookstore is my way of staying "connected". Like many veterans, I've read many books over the years about Vietnam and other wars, which has served as a cartharsis and as a deepening of my understanding of these significant moments in history.

The Bookstore has been a slowly evolving process over the last two years. My goal quite simply is to create the most extensive store of military literature available on the Internet. That on-going process is both fulfilling and rewarding. Many of our brother and sister veterans have become supurb authors, and it is an honor to present their works. Others have captured pieces of history that are a legacy for those who have participated in any of our conflicts.
